Who we are

A Different Approach to Environmental Data Collection

Oxygen Media Group is a Perth-based technical services company delivering fauna survey data collection and processing for the Western Australian resources sector.

We don't replace the ecologist. We do the work that frees them to focus on what only they can do.

What We Do

Fauna surveys generate large volumes of acoustic, visual and spatial data. Collecting and processing it manually is time-intensive, and in a WA resources sector where timelines are tight and qualified ecologists are stretched, the data itself is often the bottleneck.

We address that directly.

Field-deployed ARU networks and camera trap arrays form our primary detection methods, consistent with EPA WA Technical Guidance on Vertebrate Fauna Surveys. Drone-assisted multispectral habitat mapping and thermal fauna detection are added as supplementary data layers. Everything is then processed through a structured AI-assisted pipeline, filtering, flagging and georeferencing candidate species detections before they reach the ecologist's desk.

Every detection is presented for human verification. No species record is finalised without ecologist sign-off.

Who We Work With

Ecological consultancies — we operate as a data collection and processing subcontractor. Your ecologist leads, maintains sign-off authority, and delivers the submission. We compress the field and processing time that precedes that step.

Mining companies — we deliver complete data collection and processing for Level 1 and Level 2 vertebrate fauna assessments. Where required, we can provide an ecological partner for report sign-off, or work alongside your existing consultants.

Our Background

Our team brings expertise in technical systems design, acoustic engineering, and data pipeline architecture, disciplines that transfer directly to bioacoustic monitoring, species detection, and large-scale data organisation. We are based in Perth and operate across WA's resources regions.
